How Long Does TVC Production Take? A Realistic Timeline

How Long Does TVC Production Take? A Realistic Timeline

"We need a TVC in two weeks." We hear it often. Sometimes it is possible; usually it is not — at least not well. Here is an honest, phase-by-phase timeline of TVC production in Bangladesh, so you can plan realistically.

The full timeline (typical 30s TVC)

Week 1–2: Brief & treatment. You brief us; within 48 hours you get a creative treatment. Revisions and approval: up to a week.

Week 2–3: Pre-production. Script lock, casting, location scouting and locking, crew booking, equipment, art direction, wardrobe, scheduling. This is the busiest invisible phase — 1 to 2 weeks for a standard TVC.

Week 4: The shoot. Usually 1–3 shoot days for a 30s TVC, depending on locations and setups. Multi-location or complex productions take longer.

Week 5–6: Post-production. Offline edit (with client review rounds), color grading, sound design and mix, music, graphics, titles, mastering, and broadcast/digital delivery specs.

Total: 4–6 weeks from approved brief to final delivery for a standard TVC.

What compresses the timeline

  • Decisive approvals. One decision-maker, fast feedback — the single biggest accelerator.
  • Locked script. Changes after pre-production starts cost days, not hours.
  • Flexible talent. Casting backups ready when first choices are unavailable.
  • Experienced crew. A team that has done it 250+ times does not learn on your schedule.

What stretches it

  • Multiple approval layers with conflicting feedback
  • Script changes during pre-production or after the shoot
  • Festival season crew crunches (everyone shoots before Eid)
  • Weather-dependent outdoor shoots in monsoon season
  • Complex VFX or animation elements

The "two-week TVC" — when it works

Simple concept, single location, small cast, stock music, minimal VFX — with an experienced team and a decisive client, it can be done. But the concept must be designed for speed from the treatment stage, not squeezed into it.

Rush jobs: honest advice

  • Never rush casting. Wrong faces cannot be fixed in post.
  • Never skip the recce. Unknown locations on shoot day are schedule killers.
  • Protect post time. A rushed grade and mix will haunt the film forever.

The bottom line

Plan 4–6 weeks for a TVC done right. Need it faster? Tell us the hard deadline upfront — we will design the production around it honestly, and tell you plainly what speed costs in options.
