Behind the Scenes: How a TVC Shoot Day Works in Bangladesh
Ever wondered what actually happens on a television commercial shoot? The chaos, the craft, the 5 AM call times? Here is an honest, hour-by-hour look at a typical TVC shoot day in Bangladesh — from our 250+ productions of experience.
4:30 AM — Call time
The crew call sheet says 5:00 AM; the camera team arrives at 4:30. Equipment trucks are unloaded, the location is walked once more, and the first tea of the day appears. In Bangladesh, starting early is not discipline — it is strategy. You shoot the golden light before the heat, the traffic, and the crowds.
6:00 AM — Blocking and lighting
The director blocks the first scene with stand-ins while the DOP and gaffer shape the light. Every setup is a small construction project — camera position, lighting, art direction, all aligned to the storyboard. A 30-second TVC might have 15–20 setups; each one takes 45–90 minutes to light properly.
8:00 AM — First shot
"Rolling... action!" The first take is rarely the keeper — it is the calibration. Performance, camera movement, focus, lighting all get fine-tuned across takes. A good director knows when to push for one more and when the magic already happened.
1:00 PM — The midday push
Lunch is working lunch — the next location or setup is prepped while the crew eats. In Bangladesh's heat, the afternoon is the hardest stretch: harsh light, tired crew, fading energy. This is where professional discipline shows — the 40th setup gets the same care as the first.
4:00 PM — Golden hour sprint
Everyone saves something for golden hour. The most beautiful shots of the day happen in a 45-minute window, and the whole unit moves fast to catch them. Drone shots, wide landscapes, emotional close-ups — all timed to the sun.
8:00 PM — Wrap (if lucky)
"That's a wrap!" — equipment packed, location restored, data backed up twice (on set and at the office — footage is irreplaceable). The director reviews selects; the editor gets the drives the same night.
What clients never see
The backup plans. Weather cover sets, alternate locations, spare equipment — professional productions plan for everything going wrong.
The data discipline. Every card is logged, backed up, and verified before anyone sleeps.
The invisible crew. For every person you see on screen, 15–30 people made the shot happen — focus pullers, gaffers, art assistants, runners, caterers.
Why this matters to you
When you hire a production house, you are not buying a video — you are buying this day, run by people who have done it hundreds of times. The difference between an amateur and professional shoot day is invisible on the call sheet and obvious on screen.
